We have been slowly trying to develop our offering of wines from the south west region of France. Here we are in the heart of Madiran, where the reds are bold and robust, with full on juicy tannins. This ironically is almost the complete opposite to the traditional style and when the father of the producer found out what he had made, he was not impressed – boi – ! However, fast forward and all of a sudden the wine is gaining Michelin sStar listings – and countrywide and sales are flying. Understandably the father is now super proud and impressed, telling his son to continue!
Made in the similar way to a Beaujolais (Carbonic Maceration) when the fermentation starts from inside the grape; not overly extracted, no oak ageing. Crunchy red berried fruits and spices but also it has lovely depth i.e it is not just fruit juice!
Syrah 50%, Tannat 40%, Grenache Noir 10% .
All farmed and certified organic. 12.5% vol.
