Felino Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendoza 2019

£16.95

This project started when infamous American winemaker Paul Hobbs from Napa valley visited Argentina back in 1989 and understandably fell in love with the place a& people, seeing the huge potential for a winemaker. As I’ve mentioned before, people are fixed and focused on Malbecs from Argentina but fail to notice the wonderful wines being made from 30 – 40 year old vine Cabernet Sauvignon.

Sourced from high altitude vineyards in semi-desert conditions.

The wine is dark purple ink in colour, inviting nose of cassis and mulberry fruits with a hint of spice all beautifully crafted and confirmed on the palate. The wine is aged in a combination of American and French oak barrels, 10% of which are new oak for 9 months. This adds the lovely mocha, chocolate and vanilla spicy notes. 14.5 % vol
