At a recent tasting I was about to pass this wine by, because in truth the grape Carmenere has not always floated my boat. Further to this, with so many wines out there, I am always keen to ensure we are passionate about any wine from the outset. Anyway, something or someone changed my mind… and I’m thankful I did.
It’s not green and herbaceous and thin – like some Carmenere’s we’ve tasted in the pass – and has some serious depth. And all for under a tenner!
Spicey black fruits lovely soft tannins make it very drinkable and with a bit of age it is showing really well. 14% vol.
