Lopez de Heredia Rioja Gravonia 2011

£24.00

These wines are pretty rare, very traditional and not everyone’s ‘cup of tea’  but I really think everyone should at least have a go.

The vineyard is 200 metres from the bodega and close to the banks of the river Ebro, it’s at 340 m above sea level, and the average age of vines is 45 years.

Rich golden in colour, developed complex nose of spices and floral notes, caramel. It spends 4 years in barrel and then in bottle prior to release, this is their current vintage! Drink with grilled fish or white meats, pasta dishes, or just savour the aromas on your own with a glass or two in the garden shed!
