Encruzado is the finest white grape of the Dão. It produces deliciously crisp dry wines and can stand up to oak ageing – gaining lovely buttery richness. This Encruzado, from top Dão producer Quinta dos Carvalhais is an absolute stunner.
The wine is bright yellow in colour. It has intense aromas of peaches and nectarines, as well as jasmine floral notes. The complex nose has well-integrated notes of brioche from the oak ageing. The palate is fresh and balanced with vibrant acidity and a long, elegant finish.
