When I first set out on the ‘vinous road’, I attended a tasting where I met Nikolaus Moser and tasted their range of wines.
Fast forward some 16 years later and we still stock their excellent wines, both their dessert wines from Neusiedlersee, and here their dry Gruner Veltliner: citrus and herbal aromas, with typical spicy Veltliner notes and hints of green pepper. The palate has mineral and flinty characters, oriental spice, and fresh citrus acidity on the finish.
The grapes are bio-dynamically produced, and come mainly from the Wolfsgraben vineyard, with its south-exposed terraces and cool micro-climate (Wolfsgraben meaning ‘canyon of the wolves’). The grapes were harvested in late September. 12.5 % vol.
