The influence of owners Marisol Bueno and Javier Mareque on the development of the DO Rías-Baixas appellation and its primary grape variety, Albariño, goes back to their purchase in 1979 of a 16th-century country estate.
Pazo Señorans lies close to the sea on acidic, sandy soils created by the natural decomposition of the granite bedrock below. Marisol and Javier were quick to recognise the potential of Albariño and were instrumental in the creation of the DO just a decade after their arrival in the town of Meis.
Today, the wines from this estate demonstrate the grape’s ageing potential in a way that few other producers can emulate.
Aged for 36 months or thereabouts on lees in small stainless steel tanks, the wine displays straw yellow-green notes. Intense and very expressive. Immense volume and great body. A wine with great delicacy and goes against the grain in that it is ripe for lengthy storage. A real dreamy wine! 13% vol.
