Bodega Lavaque, Inca Tannat 2023

£14.50

I hope we always appear honest… and to that end I have never been a huge fan of the Tannat grape variety, either from France or Uruguay.

However, we tried this little beauty from Argentina earlier in the year and realised it can make some really good wines and so this is the case in point. I think the fact that the grapes come from the far north region of Salta and altitudes of 1800 metres above sea level, it help maintains the juicy freshness you will find here.

Ripe black fruits on the nose with notes of coffee, sweet tomato and thyme. Good structure defined by round tannins and nice acidity. Balanced and juicy, with a touch of spice and a silky finish. 13.5% vol.

If I’m a convert, hopefully you will be too!
