This is a grape variety you may be more familiar with from both the mainland and the absolutely gorgeous island of Santorini (a holiday in 1991 which will last long in my memory of which I can’t certainly divulge here)!
This Assyrtiko is sourced from selected parcels in Agios Panteleimonas, on the high plateau of Amyndeon in northern Greece. The wine is fermented in stainless steel vats and left on its fine lees for several months; lovely bright lemon-yellow colour, floral notes and peaches to die for, lovely refreshing acidity… watch the Durrell’s with a glass of this! 13.5%
