Marius Reserva, Almansa 2018

I missed out on shipping this wine last year, but have not made the mistake twice! It really does punch above it weight.

From 50% old, dry-farmed, bush-vine Monastrell, 25%, Garnacha Tintorera, 25% Tempranillo. Aged 45–65 years old at 750-950m altitude. Then aged 12 months in fine grain, medium-toast 300l American barrels & min 12 months in the bottle.

Deep ruby colour, intense, seductive aromas of damson plums, raspberries and cassis with vanilla notes. Rich, velvety palate, wild berry fruits, black pepper and cassis with fine tannins and an enduring plummy fruit aftertaste. A wine to grace any table, attractively priced.
