This wine is the second wine to Chateau Léoville Poyferré, produced from the estate’s younger vines with an average age of 15 to 20 years but still with the same meticulous attention to detail as the main wine.
The appellation of Saint-Julien is characterised by deep, predominantly gravel soils, which encourage vines to penetrate deep into the soil, lending the wines a combination of intensity and refinement. Léoville Poyferré has 80 hectares of vines on five different gravel soil types across the appellation.
Elegant and expressive with a nose of vibrant black fruit, aniseed, hints of smoke and violets. Practising organic, although not yet certified. 14% vol.
