Made from Grenache Noir, a favourite red grape of mine… it’s that it’s not a big bold bruiser of a red wine from Australia that you might expect. It’s a light, unashamedly aromatic and very drinkable red wine that has you reaching for another glass!
It’s sourced from old vines and looked after, having spent a few months in oak barrels that in parts have some smokey, vanilla tones in the background… but this is really all about the red berried (raspberry/cherry) fruits. 94% Grenache with a splattering of Mourvedre or as the Aussie’s call it Mataro. S
90 points from Parker and 92 pts from James Halliday confirms the above. It’s a corker… well no, screw cap actually. 14.5% vol.
