We visited this estate few years ago now and have always liked their Champagne’s. Once again this is proof that cave co-operatives don’t all make bad mass produced wines. This has real class. Aged for 60 months on its lees.
Founded in 1846 by the brothers Jules and Auguste Devaux, today Devaux is owned by the Union Auboise in the Côte des Bar – the heartland of Pinot Noir in Champagne. The ‘Cuvée D’ comprises a minimum of 40% reserve wines, including wine from two solera systems dating back several vintages since 1995!
