We’re thrilled with the arrival of this wine. Whilst this north eastern part of Italy that borders with Slovenia and Austria may not receive all the hype and attention it did in its hay day back in the 1960s – they really do make some world beating wines.
This is a new venture where fruit is selected from specific single site vineyards: 100% Chardonnay unoaked… yet from old vines so has wonderful depth and structure of ripe apples, with a saline freshness. 13% vol.
Drink now and over the next five years and with the current shortages we are seeing from the Maconnais region, this surely has to be a great contender as an alternative offering.
