We have always been super impressed by the wines from Tabali, launched the same year as us, back in 2002! They are located in the far north of Chile in the Limari Valley and at the time few other producers dared venture that far north due to the lack of rainfall. However, they have been producing some really exciting wines over the years from high altitude single vineyards.
This is their joint venture with Thienot Champagne house and when we first tasted these wines some 3 years ago we were just blown away!
60/40 Chardonnay/ Pinot Noir the wine spends 30 months ageing sur lees (in bottle in their cellars) for the second ferment, is has huge complexity of bready, yeasty, toasty… so, super fresh acidity and great poise.
We will be drinking this over the festive period. 11.5% vol.
