November News

Well, another weekend has passed and another Welsh Rugby loss, they seem to be coming all the quicker of late and Japan, South Africa and New Zealand waiting in the wings, the next few weeks for a Welsh rugby fan could be yet more uncomfortable viewing, thankfully I don’t have TNT sports!

Turning out attention to the wine world it also now becomes a pivotal point in our calendar year. Whilst things certainly remain challenging for all either at home or on the high street, I remain positive that the weeks ahead will hopefully be full of joy, happiness and laughter with family and friends as it should be… washed down with the occasional good glass of wine!

We have lots to tempt you with as always and for those of you who have been lucky enough to attend our recent wine tasting will no how good the Tatie Brut NV sparkling wine from Chile is.

This is the JV with Thienot Champagne of Reims (with their magnificent cellars, see the image above) grown at high altitude in the far north of Chile.

A blend of 60 Chardonnay and 40 Pinot Noir, traditionally fermented in complete darkness with 30 months ageing, it has all the complexity of a Champagne at 1/3 of the price at on offer at £20 a bottle I know we will be drinking a glass or two of this over the festive period.

Staying in South America we have a Malbec from Bodegas Urqo, their wonderful Argentinian estate seen here, on offer with £2 off at only £13.95.

Also from the Uco valley of Mendoza is a really fine pure example of this grape, an excellent fruit forward (and I mean approachable) Tannat from Bodegas Lavaque at £14.95 along with a cool white, Conejo Verde a blend of Viognier, Sauvignon and Torrontés at £14.95.

As this is just the tip of the iceberg from our new South American wines, so do please dip into our impressive range.

We have numerous offers on PORTS and SHERRIES as we normally do from Sandeman, Krohn and Lustau.

Actually, perhaps too many to mention here but do please ask, or check out here on the website.

For those of you looking for something more traditional this Christmas, we have the Macon-Charnay from Clos d’Eglise on offer— which is really exciting.

Normally priced at £18.95, it’s now down to just £16.95 a bottle. This classic white Burgundy is perfect for festive gatherings, pairing beautifully with turkey, creamy sauces, or simply enjoyed as an aperitif. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a high-quality, elegant French white at a great price!

Available here in our webshop.

Another classic French white from the Pouilly Fumé appellation is Domaine Bel Air. Normally priced at £25.95 this is fantastic value and down to an amazing £21.95!
